Somewhere behind Hyatt JB, is a Malay restaurant called Anjung Warisan. Never mind the food, it’s nothing to shout about. But the atmosphere is great. This is the highly acclaimed Tree House, where they practically dine on trees, or rather amidst them. But the attraction of the place is the angklung performance. This Malay musical instrument called angklung is played by a most skillful performer who is able to churn out wonderful music from traditional and contemporary songs. He is certainly a must-see in JB. Food-wise, the place is famous for its nasi briyani, nasi lemak and local Malay dishes. There is a selection of western food like chicken chop and steak. Try the local Malay satay and otak-otak. Enjoy a cup of soda bandung. But most important of all, make sure you catch the angklung performance! Listen to him play traditional Malay songs, western pop. theme songs from Chinese serials and even Winter Sonata!

Oh you can choose either a table on ground or up on the tree. But those on the tree are usually full, so reservations may be required. Remember though you need to sit on the floor for those on the tree! Malay style!
